How did the Tri-Boro Tots Parenting Network begin?
The Tri-Boro Tots Parenting Network began as a social media group in spring 2021. Over time the group has matured and now offers a variety of events and activities for families each month. The cost of running these activities is approximately $50 per family per year. Financial assistance is available to families who would like to participate and are unable to cover this cost themselves.

What is the mission and purpose of Tri-Boro Tots, Inc?
Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. mission is to make the Tri-Boro Area of Northern New Jersey the best place to raise a family in New Jersey. The Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. fulfills its mission through three core programs: Parenting Network, Shop Local Initiatives, Community Health & Wellness Projects.
What is the structure of Tri-Boro Tots, Inc?
Tri-Boro Tots, Inc is a 501(c)3 nonprofit governed by an Executive Board that oversees all three core programs of Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. The Executive Board is composed of seven individuals, two leaders from the Tri-Boro Tots Parenting Network, two area small business owners, two local professionals from the health care community and one local community member with professional expertise in the finance, insurance or legal industries. There are currently openings on the Executive Board.
Why does the Tri-Boro Tots Parenting Network exist?
The Tri-Boro Tots Parenting Network exists because parenting is hard! When your family is young and you don’t yet have access to the community bonds that come with having school age children, it can be incredibly difficult to forge relationships with parents. The Parenting Network helps families create ties with one another and build a deeper sense of community.
Is this just an organization for moms? What are the requirements for participation?
The Tri-Boro Tots Parenting Network welcomes people of all genders, religions, races, educational backgrounds, income levels and employment status. It is open to anyone who supports its mission. The requirements are minimal– just a $50 annual fee and support for the mission and purpose.
Is this a religious organization?
This is not a religious organization. Our goal is to not make anybody feel uncomfortable because of his or her religion. If people in Parenting Network are interested in getting together and forming a religious group, they are more than welcome to get together outside of the framework of the organization.
Is Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. involved in political action, endorsing candidates and political platforms?
No. Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. is a 501(c)3 support organization, with its goal to make the Tri-Boro Area of Northern New Jersey the best place to raise a family in New Jersey. Tri-Boro Tots, of course, supports the spirit of volunteerism and activism within its ranks. Partnerships/relationships with government entities and public policy organizations merely exist to provide non-partisan, concrete and specific information to further improve the quality of life for all residents and businesses in the Tri-Boro area.
What does the Parenting Network annual fee pay for?
The annual fee helps cover expenses such as insurance, website & communications, recruitment, sunshine care packages, activities and other operating expenses. For families who are unable to cover the full cost themselves, financial assistance is available.
Is this just a playgroup for the kids?
No. The Tri-Boro Tots Parenting Network is an organization for parents . As such, many of our activities are geared toward parents and not children. Of course, children are certainly actively a part of many activities as well.
How do Network participants communicate?
The Network communicates via email, online and during weekly/monthly meetings. The Network has an exclusive Facebook group & MightyNetwork community. Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. publishes an online newsletter, sends periodic updates and hosts public events throughout the year. Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. has a growing list of email subscribers and social media followers.
How does the Parenting Network Operate?
The Parenting Network has a voluntary organizing board and coordinators who lead the planning and execution of all Parenting Network programs. The Parenting Network hosts a virtual Monthly Parenting Network Meeting on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:30 PM. Additionally the Parenting Network has a number of weekly and monthly events and activities, some of which are geared towards parents-only, moms-only or dads-only and others intended for the whole family. There is a monthly parents support group, book club, and fun outings. There are field trips and potlucks for the whole family, weekly playgroups for at-home parents and their children and a weekly moms-only track meetup.
Does Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. promote a particular style of parenting?
Tri-Boro Tots, Inc. does not extol any particular parenting style or subscribe to any method, though it actively encourages healthy lifestyle choices.
Why does the Parenting Network need insurance?
Just like a business, the Parenting Network is exposed to certain risks, many of which you may or may not be aware. While we do everything we can to prevent something from happening within the Parenting Network activities and meetups, in reality, no one can guarantee that things are going to run smoothly all of the time. The Parenting Network is not immune from liability. Our insurance policy protects not only the assets of Tri-Boro Tots but the personal assets of its members.
